  •  Joan, what do u think of this scenario: (4+ / 0-)

(just on the more general topic of Nuclear consequences)

McTurtle et al promise lots more obstruction now, in retaliation, AND to gut the remaining filibuster rules when/if the GOP retakes the senate.

Reid says, really?  Really truly?  Then why would we possibly wait to gut those remaining rules now, while we're in power?  So again, really?

McTurtle says...well, what does he say?  And if he and/or the TP demonspawn of the senate say yes, we really mean it, then can we go ahead and, for example, kill the SCOTUS filibuster?  And some of the debate clock?

    •  in other words, to stick w/the "nuclear" metaphor, (0+ / 0-)

it really is like we've just launched SOME of our missiles, and blown up a FEW of their cities and airfields.  And now we're hoping that they can recognize and appreciate our restraint...

    •  What good does gutting the rest of the filibuster (0+ / 0-)

do?  Even if we can pass legislation in the Senate, it dies in the teabagger House anyway.

Don't call these racist thugs the tea party, they are *teabaggers*! Please don't insult the original Tea Party as they were patriots. Call them TeaBaggers!
