    What would comparable rent be?  That amount would be subject to income taxes.  If they earn little, the income tax for the low paid ministers won't be much.

    That's how I read the judgement.

      on the value of the house and the property values in the neighborhood.

      my church used to be in a less expensive area of town but gentrification and corporate expansion have made the rents sky high such that I cannot afford to live near the church.

      if they still had their rectory and I had to pay taxes on the fair rental value, that would be an enormous hit
