    I Love Lucy, beyond a doubt.

    Lucille Ball set up so many things that became tropes, later, but when she did them they were new.

    (Well, afaict, b/c I wasn't alive yet: but I've seen most of the episodes in reruns, and hers was the prototype. Everyone else who came after, was either reacting to or against her show. Plus, she was really funny. Someone here called her a clown: I don't think so, but she sure could play one when the script required it.)
