realized above, there is no "fab six". It suits Ray to talk as though there were a conspiracy against him - it brings people together in being able to accept other vast conspiracies in the wider world.

Accept the validity of the fab six, and hey, presto! you can see the diarist as one of the beleaguered few who are fighting for truth, justice, and the American Way - even while traducing every jot and tittle of it.

If he believes it, then he can feel larger, more dangerous to the Powers That Be. If he doesn't believe it, then it's being used to convince the people reading his diaries that he's an exemplar of the type of person or institution that the Elites are against. Since they don't exist, he's been compelled to invent them, and continually enforce the case against them.

This, if it works, creates a clear and present menace on a fairly intimate scale, that can be used to subjectively enhance the larger claims he wishes to make. I believe it's a tactic that has been used quite successfully at the beginning of a number of major conflicts, though I will leave the historical comparisons to be made by the informed reader.

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)

    •  So far you've posted EIGHTEEN (18) messages (0+ / 0-)

in this thread with a recurring theme... Why are you so invested in reading my diaries and posting these many comments?

The meaning of this one is easy... A hard defense of the status quo.

You use the word "conspiracy," not only that, "wider conspiracy" to boot.  You dismiss the notion of the "fab-six," which is the term I use to point out the obvious fact that a tiny group that average about six people (the same people, over and over, as many other commenters have pointed out) keep visiting my diaries engaging in disruptive behavior, and then, again, try to go for the coup de grace by saying that since the "fab-six" don't exist, then any other observation I usually make in my writings should also be invalidated.

Isn't that some sort of attacking the messenger thing?

So far what I see you doing in my diaries is trying to attack my character by using words like paranoid, conspiracy, and questioning my integrity... And because of it, this comes to mind:

Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule … Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as “kooks”, “right-wing”, “liberal”, “left-wing”, “terrorists”, “conspiracy buffs”, “radicals”, “militia”, “racists”, “religious fanatics”, “sexual deviates”, and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.
Now, let me ask you something, and give you the benefit of the doubt... Is it true or not that you've alluded to me being paranoid, conspiracy-driven, a person who lacks integrity, and worst of all sins, a person who is not familiar with Shakespeare?

It seems to me that you could answer that very simple question, especially given the fact that you've already written 18 posts in this diary.

And the final question: If you have such a bad opinion of me, implying that I lack integrity, that I'm prone to conspiracies, that I'm paranoid, what makes you keep visiting my diaries?

In this post you even go after my readers...

So if you label me as a conspiracy type of guy, and then claim that my readers are being exposed to my theories, then if they buy into them, voilà, or presto! as you said, they will buy into larger conspiracies...

Again, isn't that a kind of character assassination tactic?  I'm just honestly asking you, because from my monitor, reading your words, that's what it looks like.

Either way, it is perplexing trying to understand what is it that you are tying to do in my diaries.  But whatever it is, it seems to me that it is making you look bad.  That should be another reason to avoid them... And there are many more coming, so it is up to you.

      •  As you pointed out to Meteor Blades earlier, (0+ / 0-)

this diary is directed to the trolls and sockpuppets and other agents of disinformation on this site, not the general Daily Kos population. In other words, to the conspirators, or at least to their underlings.

        Did I misread that, too?

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)

        •  I was kind of asking YOU about why you've (0+ / 0-)

posted 20 messages here so far, most of them questioning my integrity, engaging in mockery, and even attacking my readers.  My answer to MB was to him on what he wrote.

          This is a different "conversation."

In several diaries you've alluded to me being a conspiracy theorist, paranoid, and a person who lacks integrity.  You engage in name-calling, mockery, and what some may call thread-jacking if posting dozens of messages not related to the them of the diary could be called that...

Why do you have so much "fascination" (your words) with me?  It is kind of weird given the fact that I will never visit nor comment in your diaries.

Finally, this has nothing to do with this being a public forum where everybody can comment.  That is an entirely different subject... I'm referring to the actual personal attacks, the allusions to being paranoid, believing in conspiracies, lacking of integrity, etc., over, and over, and over.

          That's a different thing...
