    in Google rankings.

    •  so a 13 year old girl, googling herself, (0+ / 0-)

would come upon a comment deep within a diary on a site focusing on US politics.

      Sounds plausible.

      •  It's not a comment deep within a diary. (2+ / 0-)

It's in the second sentence! If you google "judge calls 13 year old predatory," which is now in headlines of this story all over the internet, this diary comes up on top of Google.

Don't you know how the internet works? Geeze.

        •  Of *course* if you google (0+ / 0-)

"judge calls 13 year old predatory" you would get this diary as that phrase is taken verbatim from the diary. Now being that the judge didn't actually say that (it was the prosecuting attorney) how in the world would she google that phrase?

Don't you know how the internet works? Geeze.

            2,330,000 results? Geeze.

The title of nearly all the articles on this topic include those words. If you simply google judge 13-year-old girl sexual predator DailyKos comes up fourth, with a whopping 24,500,000 results. Fourth out of 24.5 million results! If anyone who knows her googles this story, they'll find this article quickly.

But seriously -- are you defending disrespecting victims because there's a low potential the victim will read your disrespectful remarks? What message does that send to other victims - or future victims? Or perpetrators?

            Real nice. Pft.

            •  Sigh...... (0+ / 0-)

you know that the judge didn't say anything untoward, right? That it was the prosecuting attorney who said the ridiculously offensive remarks? And of course I'm not defending disrespecting victims because the original diarist wasn't disrespecting the victim, which is obvious if you read it.

              •  yeah, I know that. (1+ / 0-)

I read the original court document.

Are you saying I, and the rest of the people on the internet, should pretend all 2.5 million hits don't exist because the word "calls" is inaccurate in this diary's title ... and in thousands of of other titles?

I'm saying there's no need to make this story about her breasts (since there's zero reference to her breasts anywhere but here, in this diary) and using callous language to describe her body is disrespectful. Even if the diarist relates to this girl's experience, it doesn't give her a pass on respecting any victim - much less a kid!

                Period.
