Yes, Logan is a right-winger who got too close to the military people she covers.  But despite her bad judgment, she is a courageous journalist who has regularly put herself in harm's way; she was sexually assaulted while covering the Egyptian revolution.

She can be criticized for having lost all objectivity and effectively becoming a promoter for an agenda, but it's wrong to attack her for being a pretty face.  The comparison to the "To Die For" character is particularly sexist, other than being an attractive blond woman they have little in common.

or she was grossly negligent. She either knew or should have known the truth.

Similar to the character in the movie, she had blind ambition that got in the way of telling the truth.

If she weren't so beautiful or so corporatist, she would be fired right now. I happen to know by being in the business world for 30 years that beautiful people are often given the benefit of the doubt, especially beautiful women selling ideas to male executives who have otherwise little in the way of excitement in their lives. THESE sexist male executives like to keep that sort of employee around.

My implication is not sexist; it is real. That is the way the business world works...whether you want to admit it or not.

Dan Rather was fired for much less of a "transgression" in his lack of precision and lack of due diligence in his reporting. And the report that ended up in his ouster was likely planted by some GOP operatives. But Dan Rather opposed a Republican President in his reporting. This is the difference. CBS executives support reporting that which attempts to destroy what the Democratic Party puts into office.

Shame on Lara Logan, shame on her husband, shame on her lying source, and shame on CBS News' executives.
