  •  OMG, you used RCP as your source! (4+ / 0-)

I thought you were quoting for the actual report, not a biased political commentariat!

I apologize for having thought you were citing the actual report, my bad.

    •  Sigh. Try some reading comprehension. (1+ / 0-)

First, yes, I did in my initial comment link to the Medicare Trustees report, and I noted that it's a pdf.  Once again, it's here.

And the second thing I linked to is an article written by Charles Blahous,  who is one of the Medicare Trustees who signed that 2013 Medicare Trustees Report.  It is merely reprinted on RCP, just like Krugman is reprinted on RCP.

In other words, I linked first to the Medicare Trustees Report itself, then to an article written by one of the Medicare Trustees addressing your point.

His position does not trump his ideology. When you quote him, you are not quoting a neutral, technocratic source, nor a government entity. Blahous is not equivalent to the CBO. Go read his bio, and think about whether you would put him on the stand as an expert witness with any credibility as being balanced or fair.

        A recent review/critique of Blahous:

        Angrybear

And he apparently has a problem understanding national income accounts:

        DeLong Smackdown

Blahous is, of course, known to appear on Fox News, worked for George Bush, and wants to cut Social Security.

You quoted Blahous, not the actual report. You represented it as explaining the report, without giving the source or the author. I can't imagine why...
