I can't wait to hear Poe Francis's Homily during the Vatican's midnight mass on Christmas.  I bet it will be a dewsy!  I think it will be the first midnight mass worth live-blogging.

      daily homiies there.

But, I guess you think he is going to point out baby Jesus being born into poverty and point out the hypocrisy of people who think the way to celebrate that is to go shopping and exchange expensive gifts, while cheering on the cutting of food stamps to modern day babies born into poverty. If you ask me the war on Christmas isn't about Christmas decorations, it is about twisting the idea of gift giving into a shopping extravagence while ignoring our own poor people, as well as those in other countries.

I believe you are exactly on point, and while pondering your comment it occurred to me that the Fox-and it's-pundits-driven alleged "War on Christmas" is in actuality an organized attempt to move thoughts away from your poignant assertion of how our Holiday shopping culture is, in reality, a war on the spirit of the Christmas message of generosity and true family values.

"I beg the Lord to grant us more politicians who are genuinely disturbed by the state of society, the people, the lives of the poor." ~ Pope Francis
