  •  Great perspective. "Black Friday" has always (1+ / 0-)

bugged me in terms of gotta get that sale. In my family, it was and is a tradition that the Friday after Thanksgiving is either working or putting up Christmas decorations. If you didn't have to work, you were working around the house. Family time was/is limited so we try to max it as much as possible. There was one year where my sister-in-law opted for the "Black Friday" run and found that the "deals" were not so great considering the sea of humanity that she had to dredge through to get them. Too many people looking for deals that they can get anytime of the year.

As far as Wal-Mart giving those bargin bin prices on high ticket items, are they really worth having to begin with if it means ditching your family and fighting over basically crap?

Lastly, when did buying electronic equipment at Wal-Mart become a good thing? We buy our electronics from the local, family owned joint in the town i live in. We never have any problems if there are issues AND a repair man will come out to help set the stuff up. Wal-Mart can't replace these guys.

Wal-Mart has become a very sad shell of what Sam had started. Inherited money, entitlement mentality, and sheer greed has put a black mark on the soul of those in charge Walton children. They should be ashamed of themselves.
