Why is it easier to buy a gun than it is to register to vote in most states?

    •  J.D. Salinger's long dead, Kathy. (0+ / 0-)

This is more like archaeology than publishing.

      •  Well, if the law says... (0+ / 0-)

...that these stories are in the public domain, then there's not much to discuss, is there?

        •  I am not discussing Salinger. Salinger can take (0+ / 0-)

care of Salinger. When I see someone cut and pasting and calling it a diary, I alert diarist. The diarist is free to ignore me. Then I alert the management and they decide the action(s).

...which seemed to imply that there wasn't an infringement issue due to the fact that Salinger is deceased.
Reading back, I see that Dumbo had mistaken your complaint against the diarist to a complaint against the folks who are perhaps infringing on the Salinger estate's copyright.
I agree with you that the diarist shouldn't be violating other people's copyrights, though I notice that the article he's republishing has a Creative Commons license which may allow it.  Check the link at the very bottom of the quoted article.

      •  swoosh. I am talking about the Diary. Cut and (0+ / 0-)

Paste. No original material. Salinger can take care of Salinger. I alert management of this site to violations when I see them.
