Rall only joined last month, so to say that a entire group of people are "gunning for him" simply ignores the evolution of his very short history here (and his rather checkered past elsewhere), his latest cartoon, and the discussion it started over the last few days.
I've seen his previous attempts at cartoons, or "witty" commentary, and his lack of popularity stems from his attempts to get attention by posting things he know won't be popular or are patently offensive.
People are allowed to have an opinion about his cartoons, and about his depiction of Obama (and it's evolution over the past few years, which is quite enlightening), without being told by people who have never encountered racism  that what they're feeling is wrong.

that either Rall or those who know his history and are defending him against the sanctimonious certitude of people like you are racists. That's a vile accusation, and you'd better be pretty damn sure -- except that you don't give a shit about evidence or benefit of the doubt, do you? -- before you or others make such accusations. Rall always draws like that. It is understandable and unfortunate that people read into it something which was not intended, but for McCarthyites like you the point is to use any possible bludgeon possible to beat Obama critics over the head with. And now you have that, don't you?

Everyone's got assholes and opinions, and you're welcome to yours about an award-winning cartoonist who you don't like. But you don't get to make blanket racism accusations without a high bar, or otherwise you're being a big dick -- which in theory is usually discouraged here.

      •  He "always" draws like that? (0+ / 0-)

Why don't you look at his cartoon depictions of Obama from say, 2007 and now? The difference is easy enough to distinguish, even for you, I imagine.
