  •  Haven't paid for the e-mail address for years (1+ / 0-)

I was one of the first dial-up AOL subscribers (1992, 486 computer, ran in DOS) and had a really short username that was only letters and was a short version of my name. When we got cable internet I kept the e-mail address for a reduced fee. Then because it was also my AIM handle, I got to keep just that for free. Then when AOL made e-mail free, I managed to reinstate my address as the old one. I think they had also given it to someone else in the meantime, but that crossed wire seemed to disappear a couple years ago. But it was getting hundreds of spam messages a day for a while and I rarely used it.
