    for "I met him but don't want to admit it". One could argue that he may have met him but simply doesn't remember, so he issued this statement to not potentially lie. But governors have a staff that keeps a minute by minute log of his public and private schedule that's certainly computerized and they could have searched it to see if he's ever met the mayor during his time in office.

    So by not saying one way or another if he's ever met the mayor, Christie is almost certainly trying to avoid admitting that he met him, probably several times, or at least spoke to him on the phone. Put if this way, if he really never did meet or speak to him, he would have said so, because he has the ability to say it with near-certainty. The fact that he did not tells me that he's met or spoken to him, and is lying.

    Christie is a lawyer and a politician. Meaning he's used to telling crafty lies. Only he's not very good at it, it seems. He's a hack, always has been. It's why he explodes at people who ask him tough questions.

    He can't take that heat but sure loves the kitchen (sorry, couldn't resist).
