    Traffic signal poles and signs
    Mail boxes
    Building roofs
    Highway medians and guardrails
    Water towers
    Fences and walls
    Bridges, especially their towers
    Free-standing in fields and parks

    My god, what do conservatives have against ANYTHING that's good for you? Their entire ideology seems based on preserving stuff that makes no sense and is bad for you, simply because it's what they're used to. Why should society be held back by the idiocy and stubbornness of cultural throwbacks?

      I think they check profitability.  If they or someone they know can make a profit, then it's good.  If it's something the community profits from, but not in a way that fits on a monetary balance sheet, they're against spending any money or resources on it, even if it doesn't cost them anything (for an example, see Medicaid expansion).

      Do you know the wind speed at the top of the Sears Tower? It's scary. If we could build turbines that could handle it they might be able to generate a lot of power. Why not? There are radio antenna there.
