    It's sort of half way between auburn more north and Placerville farther south. In a tiny little town the street was wide enough for a 6 lane freeway and everybody parked in the middle of the street as well as by the curb.

    I asked a local why were the streets so wide?
    He she told me that the roads  were made for dual purpose; a fire break and a road, especially in farming country.

    It was really a smart thing to do. Helps with all sorts of future things. too bad the roads were made that wide in Aspen.
