  •  The way they were talking (14+ / 0-)

it sounded like they expected major winter storm before tomorrow.
AFAICT, you're still correct, and they're still wrong.
(Weather today in Los Angeles: showers, heavy at times. It's fun having the wipers on while the sun is shining between clouds.)

    •  Compare the entire continental US to (7+ / 0-)

the latest predicted barely 6 or 7 state heavy impact zone for this snow/ice storm. It sure isn't the snowpocalypse of 2014.  Although winter isn't over yet and that polar vortex seems to be swinging down and around like a loose toupee in a 3 Stooges comedy.

So this will be the next focus.  As a major storm comes into California on Friday, the storm will create a surface low coming out of the Gulf across the Southeastern United States … and moving up through the northeast.  Exact track is unknown at this time, however the nor’easter track is going to be read for business for the eastern half of the country during the first week of March.

In addition to this, a major ice storm will hit some spots of the Central/Eastern USA … again where exactly is not known but areas as far west as Texas and Oklahoma need to remain alert

As you can see, it wasn't predicted to be a historic storm, or a snowpocalypse, just a major storm for the first week in March.  It was misrepresented in the original post (and in this one).

It's sad to see people ganging up on an amateur meteorologist who actually tends to be right far more often than not.

      •  A major ice storm between Maine and Texas in (6+ / 0-)

        winter?

Damn, that's like a 100-ticket raffle when you hold 98 of the tickets.  Not going to go wrong there very often.
