You can make baked potatoes on it in the summer. You don't even have to wrap them in foil if it has a rack in the lid. Just get the grill good and hot, then turn it down if it's a gas grill, put the potatoes on the lid rack and forget em for about 40 minutes.

They're perfect. No heating up the kitchen, and you can even grill the rest of your dinner while you're at it.

Even the skins get crispy if you don't use foil.

    •  Those are the best. Long cooked is the way to go. (4+ / 0-)

It doesn't get too hot here, but I've lived in places where your advice is understood. Same reason Southern manses had their kitchen houses.

Now if you want to talk grillin', well...

I've got some stories to tell.

      Thanksgiving turkey.

      New Years pizza.

      Busy burgers.

      Pick one.

when I had forgotten that my lower burner in the oven had done a disco thing.

Grilled turkey was okay (slightly smoky), but the grease that enveloped even the outside of the grill was gross. Lucky then that there were no bears in the neighborhood. Now there are.
