I have a toaster I brought back in 1971. Stainless-steel and is old and battered. I wanted to get a new one to replace it and found the only crap available were one made of plastic. I got one anyway. I used it once and the thing broke after the one use. I still use my 1971 Panasonic Stainless Steel toaster.

I have use many water boilers for making tea. They all were made of plastic and each lasted about 1 and 1/2 years before frying. I woke up once during the night to find one was turning itself on and operating. I inspected the device and found that it had been melting the electrical contacts and the plastic. During the night the device was shorting out and starting on its own. There is nothing like finding out a device made of plastic and with electric power was shorting out and melting in your kitchen while you are asleep. I reported it to the manufacturer. I doubt that they did anything to correct the problem.

Plastic and electric power is not a great choose for living long.

Really, no material can do everything.
