    Cutting food stamps increases health care spending in the short term (increased admissions for diabetes patients) and long term (diabetes emergencies + chronic problems, including child malnutrition).  It's more stupid than robbing Peter to pay Paul, it's robbing Peter + the taxpayers to pay Paul more.  

    These moves by Connecticut and NY will save money for state and federal taxpayers.  Good for them for being fiscally conservative!
