does not entail destroying it, but makes it possible to control it.  As progressive lawmakers and presidents - imagine! - did in the early twentieth century; as FDR and the Dems did in 33 and 35.

Political power comes from productive power; the concentration of productive power in too few hands has this result that we now see:  the creation of an aristocracy of wealth which then seeks to entrench itself; economic cycles of boom and bust; the proliferation of expensive entertainments and wars to distract and to suppress dissidents...

already--seemed to work for a while--but now Europe is going broke and having extreme austerity imposed on it by the bankster international banking cartel.

A mixed economy with enough capitalism to produce needed goods and services and enough socialist taxes and subsidies to bring the bottom half of the socioeconomic heap up to a level of modest comfort may be the best we can do.  We have had electric and gas utilities and phone services recognized as natural monopolies and heavily regulated.  We probably need to treat health care the same way as utilities--with Medicare for the elderly, orphans, and disabled, and Medicaid for the poor to help pay for it.
