    Boooooo!!! Try again.

The only context needed is that Issa's disrespect to a ranking member is stunningly outrageous. Are you really defending Issa or somehow implying that Cummings was in the wrong? FFS.

    •  I'm defending procedure (0+ / 0-)

Very simple—when the chairman, any chairman, gavels adjournment, then it's over. Moreover, you don't get to deliver a harangue in the guise of asking a procedural question. Issa and all his baggage aside, Cumming was, in fact, in the wrong here and himself disrespectful of well-established parliamentary rules.

should allow equal time. When the ranking member requests time to speak, it should be given. To cut the mike, make a slashing throat gesture and walk out is beyond disrespectful and likely racist (as I doubt Issa would have treated a white male Dem with the same seniority that way).

HE hadn't gotten any time to speak. The chamber is supposed to allow equal time for both parties.

        •  Very convenient (0+ / 0-)

for Issa. But rules are rules. When the Dems retake the majority, it will be their turn to decide when to convene and when to adjourn.

used here by Issa to silence anything contradictory to his agenda.

Cummings was 100% correct in lashing out at Issa like he did.

It proves he's trying to conduct a Star Chamber-type hearing. He used the rules to make a dick move. Sorry. I have no respect for that.
