  •  Why the Keystone XL is the tea party lovechild (0+ / 0-)

That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual (Koch brothers), by a group (Tea Party), or by any other controlling private power (Citizens United). -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

When completed the Keystone XL will offer virtual no benefit to the United States. Tar Sand isn't considered taxable by interstate transportation laws . That would mean that no revenue will be diverted to the states that the pipeline passes through on it's way to the Free trade zone were the oil refineries are located .

There would be a temporary burst of pipe line jobs much like the Alaskan pipe line that the GOP will point to for state elections that would tighten there grip on congress even more than they have now.  However after construction is complete those job gains will vanish..

Free trade zones can be defined as labor intensive manufacturing centers that involve the import of raw materials or components and the export of factory products. Usually, these zones are set up in underdeveloped parts of the host country; the rationale is that the zones will attract employers and thus reduce poverty and unemployment, and stimulate the area’s economy. In the United States, foreign trade sub-zones are designated as single-purpose sites for businesses such as oil refineries or large manufactures because they could not feasibly be moved to a traditional location.

From there the finished products would ship to Europe or China Duty, tariff and tax free. So there is no returned revenue for the Feds ether. Who makes money then? Why the Koch brothers of course. they stand to double there wealth if the pipeline is approved . They will add $100 billion to there current wealth.Your can bet your last dollar that a large chunk of that will go to the right wing networks such as their Heritage Foundation or Americans for Prosperity, that they created to help them obtain this objective.

The first part of there nefarious plan is almost complete by De-funding any social program that might give the poor and middle class financial means to push back against their plan.

We know that the GOP is dead set on creating a collective dictatorship. 2014 and the Koch money could make that happen. just having the XL approved would boost their stock rating enough to put things into motion....
