  •  You can't even call them journalists. (11+ / 0-)

They are party hacks with pens schooled in the same sorry methods of propaganda that Hitler and Stalin used. It works on those who don't or won't think for themselves. A 30 second sound bite or blog blurb is all them want or need until shit gets real and personal for that individual. Then the wailing and gnashing of teeth begins.
Hacks, Flacks, and more accurately, frauds. So long as they get theirs everything is good. Pigs at the trough. Producing shit and naught else.

    Give blood. Play hockey.

      for those reasons you name.

Which is why they can't be called journalists.  I call them sentence dictation reporters, because all they do is listen to what sentence the teacher reads and try to write it down like it was read to them.

No investigation; no verification of sources or facts.  They consider facts pesky little things they can't be bothered with.

      •  And other Univs have turned their Comm&Journ (0+ / 0-)

Depts into farms to produce PR flacks, whose jobs are to spin reality into convenient gold-producing-lies. Not much difference, when you think about it, which they are all paid not to do.
