    the state had that line trademarked, most state tourism agencies are huge and well funded and they know what they're doing. And if they don't, the ad agencies they hire do.

    Pretty sure this billboard was run as publicity bait, and I'd be surprised if MoveOn didn't understand the risks going in. Don't think they were concerned about the effectiveness of the board with the LA Demo.

    Most will back down from a cease and desist order, and it usually ends there. But w/todays GOP I think you make a fair point that they could go after MoveOn with lawyers and court cases that would tie them up for more money and time then the billboard was worth, even for the publicity, which let's face it, isn't going to be that huge and mostly read by the choir.
