In Travels with Charley, Steinbeck recounts an experience straight out of the Twilight Zone when he got stuck on the bridge between Detroit and Windsor, where he was prevented from entering Canada and from returning to Detroit. It's a hilarious story in its absurdity but indicative of the perverse delight that some take in exercising their petty powers while staunchly disregarding compassion and common sense.

    Marx was an optimist.

have ALWAYS taken a particular delight in hassling American citizens on their way into Windsor, while the American Customs & Immigration folks on the Detroit side don't seem to have the same prejudice towards Canadians.

And I'm talking about from the 1960's onward...

America's LAST HOPE: vote the GOP OUT in 2014 elections. MAKE them LOSE the House Majority and reduce their numbers in the Senate. Democrats move America forward - Republicans take us backward and are KILLING OUR NATION!
