  •  Yep. How awful it is to have to gut out a health (12+ / 0-)

issue because financially one just has no real choice about it.

I was also on the "Trust my otherwise young & healthy body to deal with whatever weird shit is happening until it passes" plan.  Thankfully I came through it, am now insured, & check out OK.

What was fun for me recently was having to pay an after hours/urgent care $135 copay because of a change in the health insurance re: deductibles.  That copay is/was supposedly $40.  I'm still waiting to hear from my insurance if they will be reimbursing me the extra $95.  Like you, I make a working class wage, & had to split that into two payments at the time.

It's stories like this that give me faith that, if we do things right, we will not only keep the Senate but have a shot at taking the House, if only we can get Democrats to attack, to give no mercy to Republican healthcare denial.  We have to call them out for the evil they insist is freedom.

It's time to start letting sleeping dinosaurs lie, lest we join them in extinction by our consumption of them.

    •  Exactly! It is a really uncomfortable situation. (8+ / 0-)

Especially when we have access to a lot of medical info online so self-diagnosis is often possible but pointless without confirmation from a doc and the appropriate action.

Thats a brutal co-pay. Fingers crossed they reimburse.

Haha- Thanks for putting it so much better than I could: "The trust my otherwise young and healthy body to deal with whatever weird shit is happening until it passes plan"

Best line I'll read today and a perfect description.
