  •  I agree, but it pisses me off to no end (6+ / 0-)

that the right doesn't want to be a part of providing health insurance to EVERYONE.  It boggles the mind, really.

Let me explain the order of things to you. There's the aristocracy, the upper class, the middle class, working class, dumb animals, waiters, creeping things, head lice, people who eat packet soup, then you. -- Gareth Blackstock, Chef!

    •  I am afraid that self-centeredness is something (4+ / 0-)

we will see among our fellows and sometimes it becomes concentrated in one group, time or place.  However, much more powerful is the opposing inclination to share.  I could always tell what was motivating a person during the health care reform campaign when we spoke.  If the person asked only what the reform would mean to their own insurance or lack of insurance and nothing more, I knew where they were coming from.  But if we also discussed the need for "people" to be able to access healthcare and how we needed to figure out how to do that, then I knew I was talking to someone who cared about more than themselves.  The world is filled with sharing and caring people and when we get to meet them we are blessed.
