  •  Given how SCOTUS ruled on the Voting (3+ / 0-)

    Rights Act last year, I don't have a lot of confidence that these lower court rulings won't be overturned by SCOTUS.  Let's hope I'm wrong.

      SCOTUS is a death or retirement by one of the conservative justices away from this no longer being the case.  And considering Scalia and Kennedy are getting up there in years...

        because of the nominating process, not to mention the demographics, the next Republican nominee for president will not win.  If we can just get the Senate to stay Democratic, we have a good shot at transforming SCOTUS into something more rational.

        in "The Lion in Winter" where Eleanor, responding to speculation that she had her rival, Rosamund, killed: "Oh, I prayed for her to drop, and smiled a little when she did, but I didn't kill her."

        I devoutly hope, each and every day, that one of the five (or more) will "drop."
