  •  Snowden is an American who got mightily pissed (16+ / 0-)

off at the excesses of NSA surveillance and decided to blow the whistle, what has happened to him thereafter (such as finishing up in Russia) has been largely the result of unforeseeable circumstances...

I believe we should all respect and be grateful for his whistle-blowing.

At the same time I do not consider him some kind of international moral authority with the duty to condemn every ill in the world. Those who now criticize him for not condemning every ill in the world do seem to think of him as some kind of intentional moral authority, a status which I suspect he would never claim for himself.

We're shocked by a naked nipple, but not by naked aggression.

    •  Snowden and Greenwald tell whopping lies (0+ / 0-)

      read this

Snowden fans might say that maybe what he said wasn't exactly true, but it led to revelations about some NSA abuse. That's like calling Chicken Little a hero because a drop rain fell after he claimed the sky was falling.
