    kind words, gardensheila!  In certain ways, I feel like the feminist movement has shared some of the same trajectory of the other activism - anti-war, anti-racist, left-wing - from the sixties.  Incredible strides were made, people came together in so many different and creative ways, and made progress.

    But since the Reagan era, the history of these movements has been under direct attack, while the actual, exciting, beautiful history of these movements has been distorted by a concerted effort of the right.  The 60's is boiled down to a few silly stereotypes, as is the women's and feminist movement of the 70's.  

    It's a history of struggle that I strive to not take for granted, because those efforts have helped make me who I am, and have passed on to me so many wonderful elements and ideas!
