  •  aww, mine (which are lost by now) (12+ / 0-)

were from the 1969-1975. I had Joan Baez and one song writer from Berlin who sang about the Berlin with the Wall still making this place a "home inside the wall". Have forgotten his name. That record I really miss a lot.
Chuck Berry, Mahalia Jackson, Porgy and Bess, Ray Charles, and some Latin music from that time. We later played those at Christmas, when me and my husband felt very lonely in DC at Christmas time, each in his own sort of "diaspora". I still don't know how that box got lost. Every other stupid box I had to "schlepp" in my life is basically standing in my way and the only one I really would have liked to have right now, is the box with the vinyl records.

Now I find them sometimes in the Evening Blues and they bring memories back. I am uncurably old-fashioned. That's for sure.

You liked Nina Hagen? I had left Germany by that time and couldn't relate to her.

May be I find the box one day. I guess I would have to make peace with my ex or he with me for that chance to happen. Tough luck, eh?

      •  or I am returning to them (7+ / 0-)

as I am the only one in my marriage to schlepp anything, there is a chance they still exist in a dark, humid, nasty basement room in the house of my ex husband. He bought into a house of an Afro-American lady, who raised her family in DC from the 1952 on and her garage had tons of vinyls. She left everything behind untouched, as she couldn't handle the move into a retirement home on her own. So, he moved into a house like with full closets of clothes and furniture and a whole garage with "stuff", which he again couldn't handle to clean out.  I am sure it was a real treasure in that garage boxes. I am not sure if they are still there. My ex didn't do any manual labor. So, if they are gone, someone else has stolen them or thrown them into trash. Which would have been a real sin. Sigh. :-(

Geez, it's not easy to not work and have to think about too many things of your past life.

        Anyhow, nice diary, pnuts.
