I didn't vote for her in 08 and don't plan to if she runs again. I'm confused as to why Hillary is always tossed around to defend Greenwald.

outside of the limits of their own ideological/factional blinders.

To them, you writing something critical about GG is self evidently "proof" that you are part some faction or another. That's their framework for looking at the world and they really have a hard time seeing beyond it.

at an early age and proud of it. Maybe if more people were lucky enough to be blessed the way I was, they could understand what the two party system dictates. To win, we need a broad spectrum of people from the extreme to the center. Plus One.

You can say whatever you like about me. I'll be voting for the Democrats on the ballot on election day. Always have.
You're welcome to click on my name and browse the list of diaries. My writing isn't opinion/editorial. It's more information/education.

I question why people come to this site to bash Democrats. That's where I draw the line.

I write a series on ending suspicionless surveillance. I research, analyze, and criticize NSA practices for what they are. You won't find over the top emotional outbursts claiming that Obama is worse than Bush in my writing.

My question was innocent. I don't understand what I was supposed to get from this piece. What if I like Glenn Greenwald AND Argentine Communists, though I'm more familiar with French Communists. I don't feel the least bit strange for being inclusive.

          •  Your question may well have been innocent (0+ / 0-)

but you must have some reason for asking it.

Why did you find it significant?

            •  I'm curious to know what would motivate (0+ / 0-)

anyone to post this. I never enjoyed Greenwald's writing.  Whatever his politics, it didn't matter. When he was at Salon.com I tried to read his articles. They were unreadable. I finally realized that he was writing in his conversational style and I found it too distracting to read.

I've noticed intense arguments about him over what? After the Ed Snowden disclosures, and all the fights that erupted, some concerning Greenwald, I ran the other way.

I wanted to know if there is or was a feud between him and HRC, to get to the point. It's not a wild guess, but maybe not a good guess either. He's from New York and lived there when she represented the state in the Senate. Maybe there's bad blood between them. Just wondering.
Now it feels like a big deal but it wasn't.

The same thing happened last week although the innocuous comment comment was a crowd pleaser with over 60 recs. A handful of people came at me with the same question. "What did you mean by that?"

I don't want to feel like I'm walking on eggshells.

              •  Well if I'd come across the tweet, I'd have (0+ / 0-)

probably published it too and I'm not an HRC supporter.

I don't see any tangible connection between the subject of the diary and anything having to do with HRC.

There's a lot of hostility in this community.

Sometimes I notice things that no one else does. Like the bureaucrat who was supposed to oversee the activities of Blackwater USA in Iraq is the same bureaucrat who was supposed to audit the VA hospitals. People died because he didn't do his job. Twice. That's the kind of writing I do.

Sometimes I notice odd incongruous behavior. Hostility.
I get noisy indignation about war but the aggressive hostility towards other people that sometimes goes along with it is contradictory. Wouldn't people who object to war so bitterly, refrain from attacking others?

        I can't help noticing. I just do.
