    ...is to paint Glenn Greenwald with the same brush that is being used (rightfully) to discredit the Iraq war neocons who've crawled out from under their rocks to appear on Sunday shows lately. I'm no Greenwald fanboy, but the opportunistic effort to discredit him by this diarist is about as transparent as it gets. Greenwald deserves criticism for his early stance on the Iraq war. But that's not what the block-quoted Greenwald comment is about. It's about the economic policy POV of a specific group of anti-US protesters a decade ago. Greenwald specifically dismissed the anti-Iraq war and specific trade agreements components of the protests as being NOT what he was criticizing. He's was being critical of the larger economic worldview of some of the protesters at an economic summit. To make this all about the Iraq war is disingenuous, at best.
