he will easily win reelection from Western Iowans. Had dinner recently with a couple from that area. They said they have to keep quiet about all things political for fear of losing jobs and being ostracized.

I don't know what consciousness is or how it works, but I like it.

Don't send a teddy bear to the Martinez family, they don't want you to intrude on their grief - send a postcard to a politician Not One More

In 2012, King only got 30,593 more than Vilsack. 54% to 46% was an "easy" win, but, given the deep red complexion of the district, King' margin was far from impressive. King got fewer votes than Romney in the district.

I live in King's district, and as for keeping quiet, I'm retired, and anyone who would ostracize me for speaking out about Steve King, is someone with whom I would not want to associate.

      •  I sympathize. (0+ / 0-)

I live in the crazy Kerry Bentivolio's district in Michigan, but I have no compunction about speaking out about him.  Unfortunately for us, even the republicans are embarrassed about him and will elect an even worse guy next time.  Worse in the sense that he will actually do more harm than the idiotic Bentivolio.  We're solid red here in this district in spite of the fact that we have the largest democratic party in the state.
