    The author of this article states that Cochran's ability to brink pork to MS is helping the state.  This is a point which economists would dispute.

    The author needs to read the recent Harvard study which concludes that pork harms the districts which receive this funding.

    I would point out, that the research was conducted by left-leaning scholars at Harvard who did not expect the results they saw when conducting the research.

    The bottom line here is that Washington pork only serves to increase corruption and help lobbyists on K Street.  People believe that their tax dollars are being spent well, but the reality is quite different.  Many bad decisions are based on the faulty assumption which the author of this article presents as fact.

    I am not against government spending, but it should be done in a way that does not breed corruption.

    Our country turns into more of an oligarchy year by year because liberals and conservatives across the country cannot unite against corruption.

    It is unfortunate that Cochran did not have a credible challenger.
