  •  Baseball has a mythological quality (none)
    to it that the other sports don't have. Baseball literature can be very lyrical and powerful and can be a metaphor for a simpler time. It has to do with the fact that baseball is something shared between generations on lazy, summer afternoons. Baseball symbolizes innocence.

    My god, people, watch Field of Dreams and you'll figure it out. ;)

    It is also magical. Other sports do not share this, IMO.
