  •  Fidel Castro IS elected (none)
You should learn something before you write about it. Cuba has a functioning electoral system. Indeed, at the lowest levels, there is a REQUIREMENT that there be multiple candidates for each office (unlike the U.S.), and candidates run WITHOUT party affiliation. Castro himself is elected by the Parliament, in a system similar (but not identical) to that in effect in the United States when it first began.
    •  I knew someone would catch me on that one. (none)
It's a little like the elections in my homeland, Poland (when it was communist, I mean). I added those words at the last minute because I knew someone else would call me pro-Castro. Some days I should just post my diary and turn off the computer for the day. You are, of course, right. I'm off to have a drink.

Do not feel safe. The poet remembers.
You can kill one, but another is born.
The words are written down, the deed, the date.
