    He spoke very eloquently about it, an aspect I'd been previously unaware of.  And quite germaine to the issue at hand.  I don't get why Landrieu is ignoring this; her state - desperately in need of aid - is the one to be screwed royally by this bait & switch.

    Glad for the name, as I'm working on a piece for EPluribusMedia on this at this very momeent.

    •  Durbin is awesome and a wilderness advocate (none)
      He comes from Illinois, but knows the value of saving our wild public lands. A good example of that is America's Redrock Wilderness Act. Durbin is the chief sponsor of the bill in the Senate, and he has spoken out publicly against the Bush administration's efforts to open up these areas to development and motorized recreation.

      It helps a lot that he is the Assistant Minority Leader. He is looked to for leadership by his fellow Dems, and he leads.
