But I'll be voting for the Libertarian there this year...

Sorry to all those Kossacks who love and admire her, but she is my rep, and I think she is something of a grandstander.

She lost me for good when she blasted the LAPD when they accidentally shot a two-year old girl. What Waters and her band of protestors conveniently ignored was that the two year-old was being held by her felon father, who was using the child as a human shield as he was trying to blast his way out of a barricade situation.

I am all for social justice, but...gosh...can't we pick our battles a little better than this??!!??

written here, I would have to agree with Maxine.  If these are highly trained marksman, you would think they could avoid hitting a child and since it is the LAPD I would ask more quickly.

Even if the father was using the child as a shield, if no one else was in danger, they could choose another shot and not take the life of a child.  I've just seen too many of these situations get out of hand and police officers will sometimes do anything to avoid calling out a Swat Team because they know folks are going to be shot.

And I sure as hell would not want Maxine Waters defeated by a Libertarian or Republican.  It doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me and it doesn't help those of us fighting to take our country back from the fools who have had six years to bankrupt us, spy on us, and start wars killing 2700 or so young men and women and untold numbers of Iraqis.
