    Not because he knows all the stuff he knows.  But because of his calm, his articulateness, and his utter inflappablility in the face of opposition.

    Chomsky and Blogs

    Back in the 60's and 70's and 80's, Chomsky and political co-researchers kept files and files and files in their offices, mailing news clippings back and forth to each other, trying to keep up with contradictions in political rhetoric, foreign policy goals hidden and overt, and so on.

    In other words, they were blogging before the existence of the internet, a herculean task.  But now, we can all do it, and we don't have to put as much personal effort into as did Chomsky and company.  Each of us can spend a few hours a week perusing the news website, looking for relevant news bits, the comment here, the new proposal there, the military movement over there, and piece it all together, on thread at a time.
