    For the Christmas season of 2001 the Kinderen voor Kinderen chorus did a song celebrating the arrival of the euro. Dutch lyrics here:

    ("Een fluitje van een cent" is Dutch for "pennywhistle" and as a figure of speech means that something is particularly easy or convenient.)

    But now, if it's being considered for elevation to world reserve currency status, one could say that the euro really has arrived.

    The Dutch children's chorus Kinderen voor Kinderen (= “kids for kids”): is a world cultural treasure.
