about how convenient that crash was for the 'thugs. I know conspiracy theories are frowned on here but I seem to remember a couple of years earlier, a certain Dem MO senator died (plane crash or heart attack, I don't remember) just before his election, his wife ran and won. In Paul's case, if it wasn't an accident, "they" made sure that wasn't going to happen again. Also, if you recall, the Senate was 50/50 - Paul's death was the domino that gave control to the Republicans. On a side note, is it a coincidence that JFK, Jr. died in a plane crash just as he was considering running for office? I don't know, but in military parlance, once is an accident, twice could be coincidence, three times is enemy action. I just wish it were possible to know for sure. I'd like to think that even Karl Rove has limits on what he'd do to win, but I just can't make myself believe it.

I'm afraid, mostly because of the small plane connection in all of them.  They just crash, and a lot more often than the larger ones do.  Too many folks over time killed in small plane crashes for me to jump on that conspiracy bandwagon.

Where I can go with you, is to the "rightwing is a political opportunist machine" bandwagon.  It would not surprise me at all to learn that they had well-developed plans of action for any contingency, including death of Democratic opponent in small plane crash 3 days before election.  I don't know that they plan these things, but they sure as hell do think about them and how they can use them to their advantage.
