    •  Jesus was in an underprivileged class (5+ / 0-)

in a society dominated by whites.

Jesus loved people who were prejudiced against him.

      What is the problem here?

We shall overcome, someday. Yes we can.

Judea was colonized...by Persians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Syrians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Turks and for a Bit the British. At various times the areas has been colonized from Empires originating from Africa, Asia and Europe (we even have the record of the Jewish conquest of the area from the Canaanites).Sometimes you're UP and sometimes Youre DOWN.

It's hard to classify that as a black and white issue.

    •  might have been a metaphor, but there is a (0+ / 0-)

school of "thought" that asserts african race for various historical figures (like cleopatra) based on nothing but wishful thinking. and the rev sounds like he's well-steeped in that school of thought.

not a big deal for me, one way or the other. if you believe jesus christ was the fricking son of god, it's intellectually infantile to speculate as to his race, which would have been whatever his father wanted it to be. if you believe jesus christ was NOT the son of god, it hardly matters what race he was.

I am further of the opinion that the President must be impeached and removed from office!
