No, I didn't anywhere say that I wanted to "dictate how people do their diaries."  So that's just a canard, but I'm pretty sure you know that.

And no, I don't have any problems with you or Alegre sticking up for your candidate.  Yes, HRC gets slagged a lot--if you're interested (tho I'm pretty sure you're not), you could go into my comments and see where I've criticized some of the more abusive commenters and diarists.  But even granting that the provocations are great, you still seem to come into this with a pretty huge chip on your shoulder.

You accused her of cutting and pasting, and rather strongly implied that the way she writes her diaries is unacceptable to you.  So yes, that looks like you are trying to dictate how people write their diaries.  How could it not?

I have no chip on my shoulder.  I just refuse to let my fellow Clinton supporters and me be shat upon or lectured to when we are loyal Democrats simply trying to promote or defend our candidate.  If we do nothing our candidate gets slandered.  If we stand up for her we get the same.  And we get accused of having a chip on our shoulder. feh

      •  it might help you to look up the meaning (0+ / 0-)

of the word "dictate."  Contrary to what seems to be your understanding, it's not synonymous with "criticize."

        •  I know perfectly well what it means. (0+ / 0-)

And even the positive one I can specifically recall did nothing more than recycle press releases and video from HRC's campaign--and no, I don't see a lot of "credibility" in cutting and pasting.

You are saying that her diaries lack "credibility" because she includes some things that are also on Hillary Clinton's website.  Even though she does a lot of other research.

So what you are really saying that if someone happens to include stuff that is on candidate's website, like a diary on the rec list that is from the Obama campaign's response to an NYT piece, that the diary lacks credibility.  You say that isn't trying to dictate terms.  I disagree.

And I'm guessing that you are OK with the Obama diary that regurgitates what is on his site since you probably see it as a necessary response.  And I would agree that it is fair to post that.  Just like it is fair for us to post stuff from Hillary's site.

Anyway, a lot of us Hillary supporters are tired of the double standards here and the hate and the vitriol and so forth and we have decided to stop posting here for the time being.

          •  Mike, your real battle isn't with me (0+ / 0-)

I haven't spewed "hate and vitriol" towards Hillary, and your rage at those who do has gotten in the way of your reading my comments with any kind of clarity.

So God bless you, good luck, and--if that bit about having "decided to stop posting" was for real--I hope to see you around here again after things die down.
