  •  Slowly coming back to Mayberry (2+ / 0-)

The Woodlands is slowly coming back to some vague form of normalcy.  Shipleys, Krogers, and Chick-Fil-A are all open, doctors and dentist's offices are opening (yea! - got to take my stitches out today; picked the wrong week for hand surgery).  We are all wandering around the neighborhood with rakes and implements of destruction, clearing streets, taking down trees, and sweeping up incredible amounts of debris in the back yard.  Our $2K worth of damages is ballooning as we uncover crushed decking under the roof, a couple of broken rafters, a shredded deck (thanks to a grand old oak), and possible water damage in the wall.

Power is on to about half the immediate area, line crews are working long and hard.  Throughout The Woodlands, our power lines are buried.  If they hadn't been, we would have been without power for weeks, if not months.  Thanks to all those who are working hard, opening stores and fixing problems.
