  •  Congrats! (9+ / 0-)

Good for you. How incredible that the first presidential election you're able to vote in is the vote of the century. You'll savor it for the rest of your life and tell your grandchildren that you were a part of it. Save your ballot stub!

In Pima Co, AZ we get an "I voted" sticker.  I get no validation, that the machine counts my vote.

At least we have paper ballots with those fill in the bubble forms.

Even when I still worked for Diebold I wouldn't go near the one Diebold touch-screen machine in my polling place.

I think a paper trail of some sort is the safest way to protect the vote from electronic shenanigans.

        •  I'd like to get a (0+ / 0-)

"confirmation number" like I do when I order something over the internet.  But you're right, at least there's a paper trail, even if no one follows it (RTI).

Stuck it in my journal. Did the same thing with the one I got during the primary season.

This is my second presidential election, but since I voted absentee last time, this is my first "I stood in line for how long?" presidential election. Even though it was a few weeks early, standing in line just made the whole thing feel different somehow.
