"I'm in Law School, I'm supposed to graduate in May. I know about your tax credit policy for people still in school, but what about those of us who won't be in school? What will your administration do to help us not be buried by student loan payments?"

and I've been waiting for an answer since the primaries. Believe it or not, there aren't a lot of jobs out there for lawyers without much experience, and it doesn't help that I don't really want to practice law.

    •  Buried by student loan payments? (0+ / 0-)

And you will graduate with a law degree?  Poor baby, can't start at the top so you want a bailout?

It's that sorta thinking that put our economy in the tank, the free lunch crowd.  And we wonder why third world countries can clean our plows?

      •  Umm, that's not what I'm saying at all (2+ / 0-)

all I really ask is a lower interest rate, because the way all student loans are set up, you'll be paying on nothing but your interest for YEARS before getting to the actual balance.

Also, like I said, the legal field is also experiencing job cuts, even the big firms. I was never setting out to get a high paying job. As sappy as it sounds, I really just want to help people and find something I enjoy doing. At this point, I'm not even convinced I want to take the bar.

So don't talk to me like I'm just looking for a handout. And I'm sure Obama knows where I'm coming from considering he was practically in the same boat until he wrote two best-selling books.

      •  Oh, and my question doesn't just apply to (2+ / 0-)

law students, it applies to every student who won't actually BE in school if/when his tax credit policy goes into action.
