  •  Sharoney - no body including your Dad (8+ / 0-)

ever got an instruction manual about how to help those who need it. But, your Dad, like my parents, figured out what was needed and just did whatever needed to be done. Out of my parents dedication grew a locally based, 100% volunteer Meals-on-Wheels program. We deliver to about 60 people every weekday. On Tuesdays I deliver one of 6 routes.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Mom's death passing. I crossed that out because when I delivered meals to one lady on Tueday, she said, "Excuse me, aren't you Lorriane's boy?" Yes ma'am, I am. "Well, before I got this damn walker I was one of her volunteers."

Good on you, Sharoney. It's not what you do that honors your Dad's memory. It's that you do something to help others. Both your Dad and my Mom are smiling down on us. I can feel it.

Gen. Shinseki, Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Excellent. Now hire for Sec. of Humanity, Decency, and Civility: noweasels
