Jack as in Jack Pallmeyer? Does anyone think the race would have been this close if Jack or Faris had run against Coleman?

    •  No. Not close. Coleman by a large margin. (7+ / 0-)

Franken was able to motivate the young and the left. He also had name recognition.

Jack and Faris, not so much on either count.

Al's a good guy. A once-and-still-married, home-town kid from humble beginnings who worked his way into Harvard, and went on to do well.

Al is extremely intelligent, quick witted, and politically knowledgeable. Whatever someone thinks about his opinions, at least he makes them in clear concise correct grammar. I don't see anybody picking apart his books the way we can pick apart, say, Ann Coulter's.
