    that our sloppiness in elections is deliberate; done so to give plausible deniability to either party that wants to throw it whenever they need to.

      and zbob overlook in your frustration with the process is that neither airline check-ins nor ATM transactions are anonymous. In fact, both of them require a huge amount of your personal, private information to be surrendered before they can be accomplished. The same information that makes those processes accurate and efficient is the information you'd take up arms to prevent the government from obtaining in the context of your personal, private vote.

      Believe me, I share your frustration and I used to think this way, too, but I lost this argument right here on DailyKos, quite a while ago.

      The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
